My experience with CIVICUS so far...

Image
CIVICUS has been one of the lifetime experiences to get my voice be heard widely and tell the people all over the world about my thoughts, beliefs and critics... because I believe my voice matters like YOUR voice and everyone's voice. I started by organizing a panel in which I will bring people from different backgrounds, speaking different languages, holding different ideologies and visions to talk about Youth Mobilization through Social Media, from their personal experiences. I finally succeeded to gather four amazing youth voices from Egypt, Yemen, Belarus and North Carolina . My panel is entitled Youth, Social Media and Mobilization. It will take place on Monday September 3rd, 2012. I then started blogging for CIVICUS last month to promote the coming Youth Assembly and raise questions and give tangible solutions about Changing Nations through Citizens and many other crucial topics. I speak out for my son at school, for my client in court, for my art at theater, for my mom at hospital, for my mind on paper... I live in the city, in the town, in the countryside, in the suburb, on the borders, in the mountains...  I boost the economy... I advance the

Gender Equality is a RED Line

I feel so ashamed to discuss the question of "Equality or Complementarity" between men and women in Tunisia after almost a century of guaranteeing these rights!  are we going forward or backward? "The code of Personal Status is a Red Line"  Aya Chebbi Photography Who said that Islamists can be democratic? We gave them the chance to prove it but once again they fail. I thought that Hamadi Jebali was joking when he said that he wants an Islamic Caliphate “ this is a historical moment of the 6 th Caliphate” .... that it was a mistake as he claimed.   I thought also that the statement of Souad Abderrahim , the  non-veiled spokeswoman of Ennahda, was a mistake too, when she said that “ the single mothers are a disgrace to Tunisians and not have the right to exist, only rape victims should be entitled to protection under the law"..."in Arab-Muslim customs and traditions and in Tunisia there is no room for full and absolute freedom
